We are in an "information war" every day. Information to live by and base our behavior and thought-life on is a personal choice between two powerful sources:

1. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil which is occupied by Satan. This information source is always hostile to the plans and purposes of GOD's leadership and GOD's Kingdom in our lives.
2. The tree of life which provides GOD-information for the transformation of our thought-life, imagination and spiritual heart. The source of this information system is GOD, His Word, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit of GOD.

We choose which information system we shall feed from and graft into our thinking and actions. Feeding from the correct source has the potential of keeping sin out of our life. "Thy word have I hid in my (spiritual) heart, that I may not sin against Thee" Proverbs 23.7

Hearing God Speak

Exodus 3 "Now Moses kept the flock of Jethro his father in law, the priest of Midian: and he led the flock to the backside of the desert, and came to the mountain of God, even to Horeb.

2 And the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he (Moses) looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed.

3 And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt.

4 And when the Lord saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I"

Moses saw something most unusual. He decides to follow-up. GOD had the attention of Moses...

Moses turned aside - putting himself in the position where GOD could speak to him. Amazing!

Hear this!

Let me try and make this simple -

• The book in the above picture is the Bible
• The Bible comprises of 66 books and it is the written Word of GOD
• As the written word - on pages of the Bible - is the "logos" of GOD

Now if GOD wants to speak to us directly about something, He directs us to certain verses, or passages within the Bible "logos"

• The purpose of GOD is to make parts of the Bible very real to each of us
• It may be the 23rd Psalm
• It may be the Parable of the Good Samaritan
• We go to those verses, and they begin to speak to us...
  

When the Holy Spirit of GOD activates a "logos" scripture and it becomes a "rehma" - it has all the power of GOD within it to be a living, powerful, impregnating word.

• GOD speaks to our "spiritual heart" and something changes within our thought process - we begin to see what we were once blind to.

Hebrews 4.12 "For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.

13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable. Christ Is Our High Priest

14 So then, since we have a great High Priest who has entered heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to what we believe.

This is the kind of "word" that GOD watches over...

Isaiah 55.11 "So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it."

It is a horrible feeling of frustration to be "left out in the dark" and not included when any valuable information is being released. We all want to know what is going on.

In this promise, GOD wants us to be "in the loop!" His information being welcomed into our thought-life, imagination and spiritual heart will bring great freedom, benefits and wisdom.

That's pretty special, if you ask me. Don't you agree?
