"To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."

We are in an "information war" every day. Information to live by and base our behavior and thought-life on is a personal choice between two powerful sources:

1. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil which is occupied by Satan. This information source is always hostile to the plans and purposes of GOD's leadership and GOD's Kingdom in our lives.
2. The tree of life which provides GOD-information for the transformation of our thought-life, imagination and spiritual heart. The source of this information system is GOD, His Word, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit of GOD.

We choose which information system we shall feed from and graft into our thinking and actions. Feeding from the correct source has the potential of keeping sin out of our life. "Thy word have I hid in my (spiritual) heart, that I may not sin against Thee" Proverbs 23.7

My Personal Encounter with the Holy Spirit

Twice have I been in a situation in which I was fully aware of a supernatural intervention, or presence of the Holy Spirit of GOD. It would be difficult to justify why it happened to me.

But it did!

Words are inadequate to describe each scene...

The taxi broadsided my van at a high speed...

I was a youth worker with the YMCA in Christchurch, New Zealand. I was driving thru an intersection with the green light, when a speeding taxi broadsided the van.

The impact caused the van to flip up into the air, and crash to the ground...

When the van was in the air, I felt two hands under my body holding me up in mid-air. I was still in the van, in the air...

I will always remember the sensation of the two hands holding me up and gently lowering me to the ground, unhurt.

Was it the Holy Spirit or an angel?

Doesn't matter which.

The memory of this incident has never left me. Never will.

Three days, waves of liquid love...in hospital

In 1988 I had cancer of the stomach at Highland Hospital in Rochester, New York.

Dr. Charles Sherman and his team successfully removed a 30lb tumor from my stomach.

I was back in my hospital room when I became aware of a presence such as I had never felt before.

It was as if my body was enveloped with "liquid love" to a degree that was overwhelming.

I wept.

I cried.

I rejoiced.

I knew, without a shadow of a doubt that the Holy Spirit of GOD was visiting me.

The waves of liquid love lasted off and on for three days...it was the Spirit of the Lord.

I remember telling the Lord that I knew what Daniel experienced in the fiery furnace. I felt that nothing could hurt me. I knew I had met GOD's presence in a most exciting and unexpected way.

I was completely strengthened, and six days after surgery, I was on a plane back to work...that was in 1988. Twenty six years later, I have never had a moments pain or relapse from the cancer. GOD did something special in me that day...

The Spirit of the Lord will be poured on you...if we choose GOD's wisdom

The end of Proverbs 1.23 reveals the purpose of the Holy Spirit being poured upon us...and that is "to make My words known to you."

This is repeated in John 14.26 "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

The Holy Spirit of the Lord is the master teacher of GOD-information...

His Spirit is as a fountain that softens, energizes, and opens our understanding. Only the Holy Spirit can reveal truth to our mind and impact our lives.

Without the Holy Spirit of the Lord, it is impossible to understand, discern, and receive the instruction, that comes from GOD.

1 Corinthians 2.9-14 "But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

10 But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searches all things, yea, the deep things of God.

11 For what man knows the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knows no man, but the Spirit of God.

12 Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

13 Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Ghost teaches; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.

14 But the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned."
