Today's Daily Verse is found in Proverbs 23.12 (session 6)

"Apply your heart to instruction, And your ears to the words of knowledge."

This is session 6...

We have covered 1-25. Today we shall look at number 26through 30...

The instruction and knowledge of GOD is information that GOD's system provides.

There is good information, and bad information.

The source is the difference... which means - where does the information originate from? Who is speaking? What is their agenda? Why are they saying what they are saying? What is their plan?

What GOD says can be trusted.

His information, which is found in the scriptures, has the power to establish GOD wisdom in our life.

Jeremiah 15.16

"Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O Lord God of hosts"

Here lies the value of the Bible, as the one source of instruction, and the alone "treasure-house" of the "words of knowledge."

What do the words of knowledge bring to us...

Here is 26 thru 30. We go all the way up to #44...

In the meantime, let's keep learning...

     26. We will walk in peace

• Proverbs 1.33 "But all who listen to me will live in peace,
      untroubled by fear of harm.”
• Proverbs 3.17 "She will guide you down delightful paths;
      all her ways are satisfying.

The path of wisdom's ways also ends the conflict. Peace is established. There is no longer strife or civil war against GOD's ways. A freedom from mental disturbance and quarrels emerges.

The point of peace is found.  John 16.33 " I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.”

To walk in peace, "our feet are fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace" Ephesians 6.15

     27. We will receive the "Tree of Life"

• Proverbs 3.18 "Wisdom is a tree of life to those who embrace her;
      happy are those who hold her tightly."

The ultimate fruitfulness of GOD's wisdom is to be locked into the "tree of life".

This is how Adam talked and walked with GOD every day!

This is Paradise...BUT the flaming swords barred the entrance after Adam's fall.

Genesis 3.24 "After sending them out, the Lord God stationed mighty cherubim to the east of the Garden of Eden. And he placed a flaming sword that flashed back and forth to guard the way to the tree of life."

The "tree of life" is the place where there is preservation of life, vigor, and health. The restoration process, made available to us through the wisdom of GOD, is overwhelming and humbling.

The fruit of GOD's wisdom is sweet to the taste. Be settled and rooted.

Colossians 1.23 "But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don’t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News. The Good News has been preached all over the world, and I, Paul, have been appointed as God’s servant to proclaim it.

Colossians 2.7 "Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness."

     28. We will receive life to our soul

• Proverbs 3.22 "for they will refresh your soul.
      They are like jewels on a necklace.

Man was made a "living soul" Genesis 2.7 "And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul."

1 Corinthians 15.45 "And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a life-giving Spirit."

• We have a "spirit" which directly connects us to GOD.
• When the Holy Spirit and the Word "touch our lives" - our "spirit" is instantly transferred from death to life.
• Our "soul" can now be accessed for change...

James 1.21 "So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls."

• Who was James talking to here?

James 1.19 "Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.."

This truth needs to be engrafted into everyone of us!

     29. We will receive "grace"

• Proverbs 3.22 "So shall they be life unto thy soul, and grace to thy neck."

Grace is "the empowering presence of GOD, enabling me to be what GOD has created me to be, and to do what GOD has assigned me to do".

• Grace is not "the unmerited favor of GOD."
• If that were so, how was Jesus "full of grace"....Jesus full of the "unmerited favor of GOD?" Blasphemy.

Look carefully at Hebrews 4.16 "So let us come boldly to the very throne of God and stay there to receive his mercy and to find grace to help us in our times of need.

• At GOD's throne, we receive "mercy" and find "grace"

Now let us see this definition of "grace" again...

Grace is "the empowering [ having ability, authority, force, and energy ] presence of GOD, enabling [ making it possible ] for me to be what GOD has created me to be, and to do what GOD has assigned me to do."

     30. We will walk in safety

• Proverbs 3.23 "Then you will walk in your way securely and in confident trust, and you shall not dash your foot or stumble."

Narrow your "walk" into seven categories...

1. Walk in sensitivity to the Holy Spirit  - Galatians 5.16 "So I say, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won’t be doing what your sinful nature craves."
2. Walk in love attitudes - Ephesians 5.2 "Live a life filled with love, following the example of Christ. He loved us and offered himself as a sacrifice for us, a pleasing aroma to God."
3. Walk in the light of revelation knowledge - Ephesians 5.8-9 "For once you were full of darkness, but now you have light from the Lord. So live as people of light! 9 For this light within you produces only what is good and right and true."  1 John 1.7 "But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin."
4. Walk in watchfulness - Ephesians 6.18 "Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere"
5. Walk in the Christ-system of attitudes - Colossians 2.6-7 "And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness."    2 Corinthians 5.17 "This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life has begun!"
6. Walk in wisdom - Colossians 1.9 "So we have not stopped praying for you since we first heard about you. We ask God to give you complete knowledge of his will and to give you spiritual wisdom and understanding."
7. Walk in honesty - 1 Thessalonians 4.12 "Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others."   Proverbs 4.11-12  "I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths. 12 When you walk, you won’t be held back; when you run, you won’t stumble."  Psalms 37.23 "The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives."
