Dear Readers,

I have become acutely aware that the daily Bible Study Lessons are almost overwhelming in content and size...

I have heard clearly that it is just too much to have 5 mini-studies each day.

I take an average of three hours each evening to prepare for this and each Bible Study Lesson each day. Just to give you a little insight : I get up at 4am every morning, work at least 8 hours - 6 days a week driving Fedex Smartpost packages to Post Offices in the Finger Lakes of Upstate New York. So, from about 5pm until after 8pm I am on the computer getting the next day's Bible Study Lesson ready and posted...I love it, but have become very aware that many of you just find it too much to work with each day...

Here is my suggestion: I will continue to post 5 a day until we reach number 44. This will be completed this weekend...

Then I will go back, and enlarge each one again - one a day - with images and a simple layout that may be easier to study.

Just as we do not eat a whole cheeseburger with one bite, so too will we need to take smaller bites of information for each day.

I apologize for the "overloading" of the lessons.

If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks,

Kenneth

Today's Daily Verse is found in Proverbs 23.12 (session 87)

"Apply your heart to instruction, And your ears to the words of knowledge."

This is session 8...

We have covered 1-35. Today we shall look at number 36 through 40...

Here lies the value of the Bible, as the one source of instruction, and the alone "treasure-house" of the "words of knowledge."

What do the words of knowledge bring to us...

Here is 36 thru 40. We go all the way up to #44...

     36. We will inherit Glory

  • Proverbs 3.35 "The wise shall inherit glory, but shame shall be the promotion of fools."

This delivery is for the "lowly" or humble.

  • Proverbs 3.34 "He mocks proud mockers but shows favor to the humble and oppressed."
  • The principle of "lowliness" is self-knowledge. It is knowing that we are totally dependent on the "grace and wisdom" of GOD.

The "lowly" are not wise in their own eyes. The inheritance is grace and glory.

Grace redeems the lowly to be kings and priests unto GOD...

Revelation 5.9-10 "And they sang a new song, saying: "You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.
10 You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God,
and they will reign on the earth.”

Glory - where there is no lust, no forbidden fruit, no defiling, where we shall be like Him, where we behold His Glory!

John 17.24 "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory, the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world."

1 John 3.2 " Dear friends, now we are children of God, and what we will be has not yet been made known. But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is"

Our glory is beyond all price; its happiness is unspeakable. The wise shall shine...

Daniel 12.3  "Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever."

Matthew 13.43 "Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father. Whoever has ears, let them hear."

     37. We will receive good doctrine

  • Proverbs 4.2 KJV  "For I give you good doctrine; forsake ye not my law."
  • Good doctrine is sound doctrine.
  • It is doctrine with substance

Not everyone wants good doctrine; because some do not want to change...

Some doctrine is more attractive to most -

Ezekiel 33.31-32 "My people come to you, as they usually do, and sit before you to hear your words, but they do not put them into practice. Their mouths speak of love, but their hearts are greedy for unjust gain. 32 Indeed, to them you are nothing more than one who sings love songs with a beautiful voice and plays an instrument well, for they hear your words but do not put them into practice."

  • Exciting, yes, but this doctrine does not work

2 Timothy 4.3-4 " For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. 4 They will turn their ears away from the truth and turn aside to myths."

  • Curious, yes - but this doctrine does not cut it!

Isaiah 30.10 "They say to the seers,  “See no more visions!”
and to the prophets, “Give us no more visions of what is right!
Tell us pleasant things, prophesy illusions.

Jeremiah 5.31 "The prophets prophesy lies, the priests rule by their own authority,
and my people love it this way.  But what will you do in the end?

  • The compromising doctrine - useless

Galatians 1.6-7 "I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel— 7 which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ."

  • The self-exalting doctrine

No matter what they say, GOD does not approve.

Psalm 49.13 "This is the fate of those who trust in themselves, and of their followers, who approve their sayings"

Sound doctrine comes from the mouth of GOD

Ecclesiastes 12.9-11 "Keep this in mind: The Teacher was considered wise, and he taught the people everything he knew. He listened carefully to many proverbs, studying and classifying them. 10 The Teacher sought to find just the right words to express truths clearly.

11 The words of the wise are like cattle prods—painful but helpful. Their collected sayings are like a nail-studded stick with which a shepherd drives the sheep."

     38. Wisdom will promote us

  • Proverbs 4.8 "Prize Wisdom highly and exalt her, and she will exalt and promote you; she will bring you to honor when you embrace her."

Love "wisdom" and she will keep us and promote us! To promote means to advance, to increase, to contribute to the growth of, to contribute to excellence, to prefer in rank or honor, to encourage, to elevate, and to equip.

Psalms 75.6-7 " For promotion comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south, 7 but God is the Judge: He puts down one, and sets up another."

  • Our boss can't promote us.
  • Only GOD can and He has assigned "wisdom" as the vehicle and platform which determines who gets promoted.
  • Love wisdom and let wisdom promote us!

     39. Our path will increase in light

  • Proverbs 4.18 " But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shines more and more unto the perfect day."

This means we are rising out of darkness! Knowledge, faith, love and holiness illuminate and brighten the light on our path.

We do not come "immediately" into His marvelous light. It is a "progressive" walk.

Many truths that we cannot see at the outset become clearer as the light increases. The brighter light more clearly defines all the areas once considered "harmless".

Mark 8.22-25 " And He came to Bethsaida, and they brought a blind man unto Him, and besought Him to touch him.

23 And He took the blind man by the hand, and led him out of the town. And when He had spit on his eyes and put His hands upon him, He asked him if he saw anything.

24 And he looked up and said, “I see men as trees, walking.”

25 After that He put His hands again upon his eyes and made him look up; and he was restored, and saw every man clearly."

As light increases, responsibility grows.

Darkness can only occupy space that is vacated by light.

Only in the absence of light can darkness rule...

Light is always stronger than darkness. Light always overcomes darkness.

Darkness has no power to overcome light!

     40. We will have health to all our flesh

  • Proverbs 4.22 "..for they are life unto those that find them and health to all their flesh."
  • Health is a matter of choice, not chance.

Getting well and staying well comes from learning the truth and obeying GOD-given principles of health, holiness, and physical fitness as found in the Bible.

Wisdom tells us that our thinking must change in matters such as unforgiveness, gossip, and judging others - what we eat as well as what is "eating us".

Selfishness and disobedience must be rejected, and health-promoting "Kingdom principles" installed in each believer instead...

Exodus 15.26 " He said, “If you will listen carefully to the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in his sight, obeying his commands and keeping all his decrees, then I will not make you suffer any of the diseases I sent on the Egyptians; for I am the Lord who heals you.”

Exodus 23.25 "You must serve only the Lord your God. If you do, I will bless you with food and water, and I will protect you from illness."

Psalms 38.3,7 "Because of your anger, my whole body is sick; my health is broken because of my sins.

"A raging fever burns within me, and my health is broken.

Psalms 103.1-3 "Let all that I am praise the Lord; with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.
2 Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.
3 He forgives all my sins  and heals all my diseases.

1 Corinthians 3.16-17 " Don’t you realize that all of you together are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God lives in you? 17 God will destroy anyone who destroys this temple. For God’s temple is holy, and you are that temple."

1 Corinthians 6.19-20 "Don’t you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourself, 20 for God bought you with a high price. So you must honor God with your body."
